Faith in Action at SFX

Our identity as a Catholic School permeates all that we do and is reflected in our values and acceptance and respect of others.

At St Francis Xavier we believe in the importance of honouring our Catholic traditions and teachings within the context of daily living.  Our aim is to support our students, families and staff to meaningfully and purposefully encounter faith through a diverse range of sacred and real life experiences within a 21st Century context.

In addition to learning about the values and practices of the Catholic faith students are provided with opportunities to respond to their learning in a variety of ways including action through service to others. This has included school and student-led activities to serve the community such as writing letters to residents of local nursing homes, supporting local charities, initiating food/household goods/clothing drives, inviting guest speakers from associations such as St Vincent de Paul and CARITAS.

Our Year 6 ‘Faith in Action’ leaders regularly lead the prayer at assemblies, initiate community service projects and activities, and support the Education in Faith Leader with special, liturgical events.
