Prep
Prep is the beginning of a child’s formal schooling journey, and at St Francis Xavier Primary School we ensure it is filled with warmth, wonder and discovery. Our Prep program focuses on building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and social skills, while also fostering curiosity and a love of learning. A nurturing environment helps children feel safe, valued and excited to come to school each day.

Highlights
In Prep, students enjoy a year full of fun, learning, and new adventures. They love all the hands- on learning experiences that help us explore, create, and discover in exciting ways. The Frankston library excursions are always a highlight, giving students the chance to listen to stories, and grow their love of reading. Students also take part in simultaneous story time, where their imaginations come alive as they step into different worlds.
One of the favourite milestones is celebrating 100 Days of Prep, where students reflect on how much they have grown and learned since their very first day of school. Students are lucky to have the support of the Year 6 Buddy Program, where buddies guide, play with, and help students feel part of the school community. Another highlight is PMP (Perceptual Motor Program), which helps students develop coordination, balance, and confidence through fun activities. Prep is such a special year, filled with friendships, learning, and wonderful memories.
